We proposed a destination which we believe perfectly embodies her mother's lifelong dream: Zanzibar, one of the most beautiful islands in the Indian Ocean. Jana happily agreed with our choice! We decided to accommodate both ladies in the Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel. We chose the north part of the island on purpose – Milada wanted to not only look at the sea but also to swim in it as much as possible. That is why we ruled out the east as the tide here is pretty low, with the beaches turning into seaweed-covered paddling pools as the ocean recedes.

Jana and Milada lived in a traditional “hut” located just a few steps away from a glorious beach. And that's where they went within a few minutes of checking in. “The hardest issue — in fact, the only issue — we had was finding a way to get my mum off the beach,” laughed Jana. Nevertheless, Milada interrupted her beach mission once in a while. She and her daughter visited Stone Town and went on a spice tour. After all, Zanzibar is known as Spice Island. It is only a slight exaggeration to say that anything you come across there can be used in the kitchen. And so, when visiting one of the local plantations, Jana and Milada were surprised to find out what their favourite spices look like before they end up ground in packets.

“The holiday was not only the most beautiful gift that I’ve ever received, but also the most wonderful experience of my life. I had no idea that there are such marvellous places in the world!” Milada recalls the successful holiday with emotion. And Jana adds that when they save some money, she and her mum will hit the road again.
