The eight friends started their dream cruise in the port of Ajaccio, which they flew to from Prague, and where their new home awaited – an elegant Jeanneau 64 yacht. They were joined by captain Niko and his assistant Petra, who helps both on board and in the kitchen. As soon as the gentlemen got settled, they sailed to a nearby bay where they enjoyed their first dinner on board! The travellers enjoyed the meal, as well as the party which followed, where they tasted excellent local wines. “We were so excited to finally be at sea that we slightly overdid the party. Fortunately, we could sweat it out the next day,” smiles Jáchym as he reminisced.

The very next day, the group of friends started to fulfil their resolutions – they spent their day swimming and enjoying water sports, and in the evenings they explored inland Corsica or enjoyed dinner on the board the “Žanetka”.

During the week, they squeezed in swimming and kayaking near the Tarava cliffs, snorkelling in the Arana bay and seagull watching on the Lavezzi island. They enjoyed dinner in the fishing town of Campo Moro, and were fascinated when arriving at the port of Bonifacio – the fortified city is situated on a huge cliff and is a delight to behold from the sea. They visited restaurants and shops in the typical Corsican port of Propriano, and spent a pleasant half-day at the nature reserve on the Piana Island where the water is so crystal clear that you can see the white sandy bed at a depth of 3 to 4 metres.

“We expected a lot from this holiday, but the reality far exceeded our expectations. We are totally thrilled! And we know for sure that next time, we will break with the tradition of our guys' trips – we’ll go for two weeks instead of just one! This time, we’ll try a catamaran and sail along the Greek coast. And maybe – if they are good the whole year – we will take our wives and children with us," laughs a relaxed Jáchym.
